Narendra Modi, the leader of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), is all set become Prime Minister of India for the third on June 9, Sunday evening, according to various sources like Hindustan Times, Zee News, NDTV, and Anandabazar Patrika.

After announcing the results of the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday, Modi stepped down from his position on Wednesday He handed in his resignation to President Droupadimu, who accepted it and asked Modi to continue as Prime Minister until a new government formed.

There were some initial reports that Chandrababu Naidu from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) might be sworn in as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday. However, recent updates clarified that Modi will have his swearing-in ceremony on Sunday while Naidu might take oath on June 12.

According to BJP sources

According to BJP sources, dignitaries such as Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck are expected to attend Modi's oath-taking ceremony.

During phone calls with Sheikh Hasina and Wickremesinghe on Wednesday, Modi received congratulations for his significant victory. Additionally, leaders from Bhutan, Nepal, and the Maldives have been invited to the event. There is a possibility that leaders from Pakistan may also receive invitations. Sheikh Hasina's presence is especially notable as she plans to visit India next month.

The Lok Sabha election results

showed that the NDA won 292 seats while the opposition coalition 'INDIA' secured 233 seats. Even though the NDA achieved a majority, BJP alone did not secure a full majority like in previous years. This means alliances with other parties will be crucial for maintaining the government.

At a meeting in Delhi on Wednesday with NDA allies like Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu presented demands for their support. These demands include granting special state status to Bihar and Andhra Pradesh along with requests for ministerial positions.

Smaller parties also lobbied for positions in exchange for their support. The BJP must accommodate these demands due to the current political landscape.

The INDIA alliance also met in Delhi

where Congress leaders emphasized continuing their fight against Modi's government regardless of forming an immediate government. They wait for an opportunity to challenge Modi's leadership while congratulating Indian voters for their response in the elections.
